back at Michelam Priory
We made a return to M.Priory on Saturday, Fira and the Fire Girls took a turn around the ring. While 'the Girls' took 4th in a hot brace class FiraMum took 3rd place in AVSH NSC - not quite the 'up to the mark' of last year, but never-the-less getting noticed.

Silkenfest 2007
On May 17, I took a flight to the USA to attend the 07 Silkenfest being held at Purina Farm St.Louis. The intention had been that Fira would also make the trip, unfortunately she was not so enthralled with the idea and decided to have a 'headache' some 3 weeks before departure date. This put the detailed plans into a spin and I decided the best thing was to 'go it alone' this time.
I did not regret one moment of it, I had the most memorable fantastic experience, meeting people and dogs in person and getting a wider feel for this wonderful Breed. With around 150 Silken Windhounds attending the event nearly 100 of them entered in the Breed Show and another 45 or so straight racing, let alone the committment these people showed by undertaking the health clinics that were set up with the intention of setting a base lines for our breed, it was phenominal. I can only say that it added to my feelings of being proud to be part of such a dyanamic forward thinking caring community of Silken Lovers
Solar 30 May 07 Guildford & Dist open P.Grad 1st, BOB (Sue Pinkerton) & HG3
Birmingham National 12 May 07
Solar entered in P.Graduate bitch, won her class, BCC (her first) and BOB under Jenny Dove (Saringa). And completed a very successful day with Hound Group 3 from Terry Thorn.
We have subsequently heard, that this was to be Terry's last judging appointment for the time-being, as he is set to undertake intensive health treatment. We wish him the very best with this and his future health and thank him for his gracious comments of Solar as follows:- "it was an exceptionally strong group and with all 29 possible breeds represented it presented quite a headache to come up with the winners. In fact because of the outstanding quality, I short-listed no less than 12 for final consideration. Group 3 was the Borzoi bitch, as sound as they come and in brilliant muscular condition all through, super feminine head with correct veining, strong neck, nice front, body & hindquarters, purposeful true movement". Terry Thorn
Fira goes large
Saturday 14 April 07.
Fira our 'little blonde Swedish Bombshell' entered her first ever show, although at a minor level, she proved her good manners and impressed the judge so much that she walked off not only with her class, but also with Best In Show.
Silken Windhound - Lily
Lily passed her K.C. Good Citizen Scheme Bronze Award last evening, and at only 8 months we are very proud of her. She will now give up her weekly training session to her sister for the time being.
