about Lily
Why Lily? It stuck in more ways than one. When the litter arrived I quickly had to find ques to sort out the bundle of brindles. White toes, socks, feet (Tippy aka Pandora has a white tail tip) and Lily was dubbed 'Tiger Lily' as she had a definate tiger stripe on one flank. She was the Plain Jayne who was never intended, but boy am I glad I kept her around long enough to see her turn into the beautiful dark swan she has become. She is my heart-dog so beautiful in my eyes she takes my breath away. Her hair extrodinaire, is long, long, long with a lustry silky quality to rival her father's 'Elven King', she has a huge neck ruff with tail and featherings to balance it out. Her hi-lights are appearing daily increasing the variety of colours within her coat, the gold is so brilliant that it reflects the sunlight in photos and life. A lady recently remarked at a training class; "if she were a woman those highlights would have cost her a fortune and she'd be well pleased with them" Cessie finds Lily's neck ruff very useful for grabbing hold-of and dragging her around, it is a wonder that it stays so well intact.

Lily is a deeply thoughtful Silken, you cannot rush her, if you require her compliance you ask her 'to do this or that 'there is absolutely no point in telling her to do it. In this way she is a contrast to her sister who does everything totally with enthusiasm and without questioning. But Lily decides for herself if she thinks that the task is worthy of her compliance, fortunately, mostly she thinks that it is because she has worked out that it is the best possible way to please me and above all else, this she likes to do. She seems wise beyond her years with eyes that search your soul. She has proven that she is not dumb by passing through her puppy Kennel Club GC and a few weeks later took the bronze stage and passed through that.
She is very affectionate and spends a lot of time just lying near me watching, although she is already as heavy as her mum I like to pick her up for a hug, she'll roll about in my arms so that I tickle her chest and she gets to practice her French kissing technique. She demands her cuddling time when she greets me first thing, time has to be spent, cuddling, stroking, and adoring her, while her sister gets on with more urgent matters, darting back & forth with her individual greeting, Lily's priority at this time is attention, it has become the morning ritual & I just love it. She has a deep affection and understanding of not only her sister but Solar our Borzoi bitch, and at close quarters; loves to play exciting games with her standing up on her hind legs and vertually bear hugging her in play. When out in the field she'll run out with Solar if given the opportunity, my nerve doesn't hold to that, too often.
She is the noisey one of the bunch and could be accused of verbally abusing the neighbours, she barks excitedly in play and also to wind up 'the old man - Thor'. If she's not happy with the situation you'll hear all about it.
